The Visitor Services Manager is the first point of contact for the Gallery and plays a vital role in shaping how visitors experience the space and the town of Grand Forks. From exhibition openings and community events to everyday gallery visits, this position ensures that everyone who walks through the door feels welcome, curious, and eager to return. This is not a behind-the-scenes role - you will be front-facing, active, and connected to the community.
Oversee Visitor Service operations Act as a confident and approachable ambassador for the Gallery and Grand Forks Warmly welcome visitors and create a friendly, inclusive gallery environment Host and support exhibition openings, receptions, talks, and community events Oversee art rental program and campground bookings Recruit, schedule, and support volunteers and front-line staff Event planning, coordination, and on-site hosting Ensure the gallery space is inviting, organized, and well-presented at all times
Naturally social, personable, and confident speaking with a wide range of people Someone who genuinely enjoys hosting, welcoming, and making others feel comfortable Organized and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks during busy events A strong communicator who can balance professionalism with warmth and approachability Interested in arts, culture, and community life (formal arts training is not required) Experience in hospitality, event hosting, tourism, customer service, or community programming is a strong asset
